Who am I besides being a Hair & Makeup and Semi-Permanent Makeup Artist?

Hey.. I’m Amineh… I’m bubbly, friendly & very smiley. I have two young children and we all live with my husband in a village outside Cambridge called Longstowe. We truly love the countryside and the tranquility of being surrounded by the nature.

My Life Experiences

Skincare and makeup are very important to me for personal reasons. I was born and grew up in Iran where women are forced to cover their heads and bodies. This means that some women try to let their faces reflect their personalities — despite a ban on makeup. Women find ways of expressing themselves subtly, with brave, creative, natural or sophisticated makeup becoming a way of enabling personality to shine through the features of women's faces.

My Care & Creativity

My experience has made me passionate about makeup as well as the expression of the creative self through art and painting. Through years of painting I have become comfortable and confident in understanding use of colour and shading. This in turn has enhanced the way that I think about different complexions and how I choose the best colour to match different skin tones. This has helped me in practicing semi-Permanent Makeup too and help my clients chose the correct shades for heir brows and their lips.

I care about people: I want to assist with enhancing their beauty and boosting their confidence through the art of makeup & semi-permanent makeup. I grew up as a young carer and I worked in Children Disability Social Care for about 10 years before becoming a Makeup Artist. I absolutely loved my job and the families I worked with, however it became more apparent to me that a big part of my personality and life was missing. Colour and creativity as well as not being to see my daughter much who was only 1 year old then. When I left Social Care it really was a no-brainer that I should pursue a carer in beauty. It was the most perfect thing for me, I was that person who was always getting everyone ready for a wedding or on a night out, I was the one who did everyone’s makeup and hair. The day that I took my first course, I remember thinking and feeling like a little girl nearly reaching her dream… I was determined and positive, my creativity waiting to shine through me but most importantly I was over-joyed knowing I will be doing a job which I love, meet new people and be a part of their new adventure.

My Kit

I don’t know about you but when it comes to using beauty products, I can be a little fussy/careful. I have done hours of researching, popping in and out of makeup shops and trying products after products to ensure the products I chose for my kit deliver the best result for my clients. Recently and after completing a Holistic Facial course, I became fascinated by natural and organic products as well as cruelty-free and vegan brands. In May 2021 I made the decision to become a completely cruelty-free makeup artist. This has meant more research and building my kit again, however I am very happy with my decision and am glad to play a small part in saving animals and our planet from harm.

Just a few of the brands I use in case you are interested to know: RCMA, Charlotte Tilbury, Cinema Secret, Sigma, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Jouer, etc.
